PEIpro®; PEIpro®-HQ & jetPRIME®
For more information contact us directly at support@polyplus-transfection.com:
jetPRIME® is a R&D grade reagent developed for small scale virus production in adherent cells grown in presence of serum. With jetPRIME®, up to 90% of transfection efficiency can be reached in cells commonly used for virus production, such as HEK-293 and derivatives, CHO, VERO, WOP and BHK cells, hence leading to high viral titers.
PEIpro® has been specifically developed for large-scale virus production in both adherent and suspension cells grown either in serum-containing or serum-free medium. PEIpro® is provided with extensive QCs making it suitable for therapeutic virus production.
PEIpro®-HQ is a highly qualified grade of PEIpro® reagent, especially developed for the production of clinical batches of viral vectors, such as Adenovirus, Adeno Associated virus (AAV) and lentivirus, in addition to proteins. The PEIpro®-HQ grade is supplied with appropriate Quality Controls and documentation allowing its use as a qualified raw material in GMP processes for the manufacturing of clinical batches of therapeutic products.
For several years now, PEIpro® has proven to be the gold standard for small to large-scale production of several virus types, notably adenoviruses, lentiviruses, adeno-associated viruses (AAV), in addition to virus-like particles.
Depending on the type of viral vector, different subtypes of HEK-293 cells are preferred such as HEK-293 for adenovirus and AAV virus production, HEK-293T and HEK-293FT for AAV and lentivirus production. PEIpro® and PEIpro®-HQ are suitable for virus production in both adherent and suspension subtypes of HEK-293 cells.
PEIpro® and PEIpro®-HQ are compatible with various serum-containing media and commercially available synthetic media for virus production in both adherent and suspension HEK-293 cells (Table 1). For more information, please contact our Technical Support.

Different culture vessels including multilayers flasks such as HYPERFlasks™ and HYPERstacks™ (Corning), or fixed-bed culture systems such as iCELLis® bioreactors (Pall) are compatible with the use of PEIpro® and PEIpro®-HQ in adherent HEK-293 cells. For virus production in suspension HEK-293 cells, large size shaker flasks or bioreactors can be used.
